Can Christian Bale save Terminator?

T3 was just awful with Nick Stahl turning John Conner into a total wimp. I was down on the series after that, but it was just annoucned that Christian Bale will play John Conner!!!! No more wimp for sure. McG will direct and it's initial release date is May 22, 2009. What do you think? Will it work? Will the series be saved?
