How to remove an ex off a deed to my house and get him out?

I purchased a home in 2007, however my daughters dad has been paying the mortgage. The loan and land are in my name, and last year when we split i was told to fill out a paper and file it at clerks office in order to obtain an apartment. I DID NOT KNOW I WAS ADDING HIM TO THE TITLE!! now i am currently trying to put the home on market and his name is on title and he will not sign to have it off. How can i sign with out his permission to put him on but need his authorization to have him removed?? its a big mess and now i am struggling to get by while he is in my home with my vehicles, dogs, and everything!! PLEASE HELP??
