How effective are anti-depressants really in mood stabilizing?

I have been through therapy without medication for my anxiety and some other things. It has been TREMENDOUSLY helpful to me, whereas the medication I was briefly on (Celexa) had worse side effects than the condition I was trying to help. The therapist's method was called CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), which helps you weed out all the illogical thinking patterns so you can sort of fix your own problems as they come along... and eventually before they even start. If you haven't tried therapy without meds, I recommend it. It has made me feel like a stronger person instead of a sick person who needs medication just to function "normally".
